Rapeseed Oil

Specifications
Rapeseed Oil, derived from rapeseed seeds (Scientific name: Brassica napus), is a light, neutral vegetable oil extracted by pressing and refining. Modern “canola” varieties were developed to reduce erucic acid and glucosinolates, making it safe and nutritious. It is rich in omega‑3 and omega‑6 fatty acids, vitamin E, and has one of the lowest saturated fat contents among edible oils, supporting cardiovascular health. Rapeseed oil covers ~13% of the global edible oils market and is widely used for frying, baking, salad dressings, and margarine. Industrially, it is a key feedstock for biodiesel and lubricants. Historically cultivated in Europe for lamp oil, it became a major food oil in the 20th century. Interesting fact: rapeseed oil’s high smoke point and eco‑efficient yield make it both a chef’s and farmer’s favorite.
