Coconut-beeswax blend is a formulated blend of hydrogenated coconut oil, CAS 84836-98-6, and beeswax, CAS 8006-40-4 or 8012-89-3 depending on whether white or yellow grade is specified. It is supplied as a container wax and is poured in the low to mid fifties, with heating held below 85 degrees Celsius. The two components are close to complementary. Coconut wax melts very low, around 38 to 42 degrees, holds a high fragrance load and releases it exceptionally well, but it is far too soft to support itself and gives a short burn. Beeswax melts at 61 to 65 degrees, burns slowly and cleanly, and brings genuine structure, but it holds fragrance poorly and its own honey aroma competes with added scent. Blended, the coconut fraction carries the throw and the beeswax fraction supplies body, burn time and a natural aroma that reads as a feature in unscented and lightly scented products. The blend contains no soy and no paraffin, which suits natural positioning, and wick sizing must be tested against the specific ratio because the two waxes draw very differently. It is used in natural container candles, tins and jars, unscented and lightly scented ranges and in premium gift candles.
