Yes. All soy wax supplied by Bio Green Wax is produced by catalytic hydrogenation of fully refined, bleached, and deodorised (RBD) soybean oil. Hydrogenation converts the liquid oil into a solid wax by saturating the unsaturated fatty acid chains, resulting in a natural, plant-based wax with a clean, white appearance and characteristic mild odour. The degree of hydrogenation determines the melting point and hardness of the final wax.

Full hydrogenation (iodine value below 5) produces harder wax suitable for pillar grades, while partial hydrogenation yields softer container grades. CoA with iodine value and melting point confirmation is supplied with every batch.

Our container-grade soy wax is formulated to achieve good glass adhesion in standard clear glass jars under typical indoor conditions without mandatory additives. However, the best results are achieved by following our recommended pour temperature of 55–65°C (approximately 10–15°C above the melting point).

For manufacturers in very cold climates or using thick-walled jars, a small addition of coconut oil (2–5%) or a commercial adhesion additive may further improve wet spots and pull-away. Soy wax, including our container-grade formulations, is prone to minor surface imperfections such as sinkholes and wet spots (where the wax pulls away from the glass due to uneven cooling).

These are characteristic behaviours of natural soy wax and can be minimised with proper technique: pouring at the correct temperature (55–65°C), ensuring the glass jar is at room temperature (not refrigerated), cooling slowly at ambient temperature, and avoiding drafts. A second pour (top-up pour) is recommended to fill sinkholes. Frosting — a white bloom on the wax surface — is a natural characteristic of soy wax and not a quality defect.

Bio Green Wax supplies soy wax in natural flakes (the most common format, easy to measure and melt), small pastilles/pellets (for automated weighing and dispensing systems in large-scale candle production), and solid blocks (for very high-volume buyers with large-capacity melting tanks). Yes. Bio Green Wax supplies cosmetic-grade soy wax (also called hydrogenated soybean oil, INCI: Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Hydrogenated) for use in body butters, lip balms, skin balms, and solid lotion bars. Cosmetic-grade soy wax has full INCI documentation, EU Cosmetics Regulation compliance, and Halal/Kosher certification. It functions as a natural thickener and emollient, providing skin-conditioning benefits and a smooth application feel.

Please note that cosmetic-grade soy wax may have different particle size, colour, or testing specifications than candle-grade wax — contact our cosmetics ingredients team for the appropriate product grade.

Our container-grade soy wax delivers a moderate to good cold throw (fragrance detectable from the unlit candle) and a good hot throw (fragrance release during burning). Hot throw performance is strongly influenced by fragrance oil quality, wick size selection, and jar diameter — these factors are outside the wax specification but are within the candle maker's control.

Soy wax generally provides a cleaner burn and more even hot throw compared to paraffin due to its lower melt pool temperature. For maximum scent throw, we recommend using fragrance oils with a flashpoint above 65°C and testing wick sizes from our recommended wick chart for your specific jar diameter.

Soy wax from Bio Green Wax is available in: 25 kg corrugated cartons (flakes — popular for small candle makers), 25 kg multi-wall paper bags (flakes or pellets), 500 kg and 1,000 kg supersacks/jumbo bags (for large-scale automated production), and pallet quantities (typically 600–800 kg per pallet). All packaging is clearly labelled with product name, grade, non-GMO status (if applicable), net weight, batch number, and production date.

Yes. Both our container-grade and pillar-grade soy wax formulations are suitable for wax melt (tart/snap bar) production. Container grade produces softer wax melts with excellent fragrance release at typical wax warmer temperatures (50–70°C). Pillar grade or a slightly harder soy blend may be preferred for wax melts that need to retain shape during shipping in warm conditions.

For tealights, our container-grade soy wax performs well in aluminium tealight cups with the correct cotton wick selection. We recommend a fragrance loading of 8–10% for wax melts to maximise scent throw. Technical guidance and wick selection charts are available from our candle technical team.

For container-grade soy wax, we recommend a pour temperature of 55–65°C (30–35°C above the soy wax cloud point) into pre-warmed glass containers at room temperature. Pouring too hot causes adhesion problems; pouring too cool causes rough surfaces. Allow candles to cure at room temperature for 24–48 hours before testing burn performance.

For wick selection, we recommend cotton or paper-core wicks (CD, ECO, or LX series) sized according to your jar diameter — starting 1–2 sizes below what you might use for paraffin with the same jar.
