Bee-Soy Blend Wax

About This Product
Bee-soy blend wax is a formulated blend of beeswax, CAS 8006-40-4, and hydrogenated soybean oil, CAS 8016-70-4, carrying the INCI names Cera Alba and Hydrogenated Soybean Oil. It melts at 48.7 to 52.7 degrees Celsius, should not be heated above 85, and is poured at 50 to 55. The blend exists to fix the shortcomings each wax has alone. Soy wax is cheap, adheres well to glass and takes fragrance readily, but it is soft, frosts visibly and gives a shorter burn. Beeswax is firm, burns long and clean and brings a natural honey character, but it is expensive, adheres poorly to glass and needs a larger wick. Blending them raises the melting point and hardness above plain soy, which reduces frosting and improves the top surface, extends burn time, and adds a subtle natural aroma, while keeping the soy fraction's glass adhesion and cost in play. The resulting melting point sits in the container range rather than the pillar range, and wick sizing should be tested against the specific blend rather than carried over from pure soy. It is used in container and jar candles, tins, wax melts, massage candles and in premium natural candle ranges. Bio Green Wax supplies bee-soy blends to specification on blend ratio, melting point, colour, acid value and fragrance load.
