Coconut-Soy Blend Wax

About This Product
Coconut-soy blend wax is a formulated blend of hydrogenated soybean oil, CAS 8016-70-4, and hydrogenated coconut oil, CAS 84836-98-6. It is supplied in two melting bands, 43 to 47 and 47 to 51 degrees Celsius, is poured at 45 to 55 and must not be heated above 85. The blend is built around fragrance performance. Coconut wax has a very low melting point and an unusually good ability to hold and release fragrance oil, giving the strongest cold and hot throw of the common vegetable waxes, but on its own it is too soft to hold a candle together and too expensive to use neat. Soy wax is firmer and cheaper but throws less well. Combining them produces a wax that keeps most of the coconut fraction's scent performance while gaining enough body to support a wick and hold a clean surface. The result is a creamy, opaque, smooth top with markedly less frosting than plain soy, and excellent adhesion to glass. Both melting bands sit in container territory; neither is suitable for a free-standing pillar. It is used in premium container candles, tins and jars, wax melts and tarts, and in luxury and boutique candle ranges. Bio Green Wax supplies coconut-soy blends to specification on blend ratio, melting point, colour, fragrance load and pour window.
