Colourful Sand Wax

About This Product
Colourful sand wax is hydrogenated palm oil, CAS 8021-56-5, processed into fine free-flowing granules and surface-coloured. It melts at 56 to 60 degrees Celsius and is supplied in a range of more than fifteen colours that can be layered or mixed. Its point is the process it removes. A conventional candle requires melting equipment, temperature control, a pour window and a cooling regime, and every one of those steps is a place where a candle can fail with sinkholes, wet spots or a cracked surface. Sand wax is poured cold: the granules are simply spooned into a vessel around a supported wick, and the candle is finished. When lit, the wax immediately around the wick melts to form a small pool that feeds the flame while the rest of the granules stay loose and dry, so the decorative colour layers stay sharp and visible through the whole burn. Vessels can be refilled and colours changed without cleaning out set wax. The trade-off is that it cannot be moulded, so it is a container format only. It is used in retail and craft candle kits, layered decorative candles, event and wedding candles, refillable vessel candles and in hospitality. Bio Green Wax supplies coloured sand wax to specification on melting point, granule size, colour range, colour fastness and moisture.
