    Palm Sand Wax (Crystal Wax)

Palm Sand Wax (Crystal Wax) – Plant-Based Waxes product from Bio Green Wax

    About This Product

Palm sand wax is hydrogenated palm oil granulated into fine white particles, CAS 8021-56-5, with a melting point of 56 to 60 degrees Celsius. It is the uncoloured base of the sand wax format, supplied so that the maker can add their own dye and fragrance rather than buying pre-coloured granules. The granular form changes what the material is for. Conventional candle wax must be melted, held at temperature, poured within a window and cooled under control, and defects such as sinkholes and wet spots arise from that cooling. Sand wax is filled cold around a supported wick, so none of those stages exist. In use the granules immediately around the flame melt into a small pool that feeds the wick, while the surrounding wax stays granular, which keeps any layered or patterned effect intact for the life of the candle. Because the particles present a very large surface area, fragrance oil is absorbed evenly and released readily, and dye disperses through the mass by simple tumbling. The format is restricted to containers, as it cannot be moulded or free-standing. It is used in DIY and craft candle kits, custom-coloured decorative candles, refillable container candles, event candles and in retail candle-making ranges. Bio Green Wax supplies palm sand wax to specification on melting point, granule size, colour, moisture and fragrance absorption.
