    Rose Centifolia Floral Wax

Rose Centifolia Floral Wax – Candle & home fragrance product from Bio Green Wax

    About This Product

Rose centifolia floral wax comes from the production of rose absolute. Petals of Rosa centifolia, the cabbage rose or rose de mai grown chiefly in Grasse and Morocco, are solvent-extracted to give a concrete; alcohol washing then removes the aromatic absolute and leaves the plant's cuticular waxes behind. Filtered and refined, that residue is the floral wax. It carries CAS number 84604-12-6 and melts at 62 to 68 degrees Celsius. Its value lies in carrying genuine botanical scent within a structural material. A proportion of the rose's own volatiles stays bound in the wax matrix, giving a soft, honeyed, slightly green rose character that is quieter and rounder than rose absolute and releases slowly with body heat. Because R. centifolia yields a softer, more honeyed profile than the sharper R. damascena, the two floral waxes are not interchangeable in a fragrance brief. It is hard and used at low inclusion, typically a few percent, where it also contributes hardness and a smooth set. Supply follows the rose harvest and varies year to year. It is used in solid perfumes and natural perfumery, in balms, creams and lip products, in luxury candle blends and as a natural fragrance carrier. Bio Green Wax supplies rose floral wax to specification on melting point, acid and saponification value, colour, odour profile and residual solvent.
