Synthetic Vegan Beeswax

About This Product
Synthetic vegan beeswax is built from esters, fatty acids and hydrocarbons of wholly non-animal origin, blended to match the melting behaviour and handling of natural beeswax. It carries the INCI name Synthetic Beeswax, melts at 61 to 65 degrees Celsius and is supplied in white or yellow grades. The distinction from ordinary synthetic beeswax matters commercially rather than technically. Synthetic beeswax grades may be assembled from feedstocks of mixed origin, including tallow-derived fatty acids, which will not support a vegan claim even though no bee product is involved. This grade is formulated from plant and mineral sources throughout and documented as such, so the finished product can carry vegan and cruelty-free certification without a supply-chain caveat. Functionally it does what beeswax does: it sets firm at the same temperature, gives the same plastic, workable body rather than a brittle break, binds oils and pigments, and forms an occlusive film on the skin. It has no honey aroma, which is an advantage where a fragrance brief has to stay clean. It is used in vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics, lip and stick products, balms and salves, vegan candles, and in polishes and coatings. Bio Green Wax supplies synthetic vegan beeswax to specification on melting point, acid and ester value, hardness, colour and origin documentation.
