    Lavender Floral Wax

    About This Product

When lavender flowers are put through botanical extraction, their own waxes come out with the aromatic material and are later removed in a dewaxing step; that fraction is this floral wax. It is a purple solid in round lumps with a melting point of 57–65 °C, and the aromatic compounds left in it from the flowers give a fresh, herbal lavender note. Because it acts as a structuring wax and a scent carrier at once, it suits solid perfumes, balm perfumes and fragrance sticks, facial and lip balms, body butters and creams, and hair waxes and conditioning balms. Massage balms and relaxation products are another outlet. In natural wax candles it is an additive rather than the primary wax, and it blends readily with vegetable oils and butters as well as other natural waxes. As a wholly natural material its properties can drift with harvest and climate, so ask for the current specification and a sample, and judge colour, scent and melting behaviour in your own formulation. Check the lavender species, acid and saponification figures, any residual solvent and the packing on offer, and confirm the wax meets the cosmetic or candle rules for your product. Storage should be airtight, cool and dry, with no direct sun.
